About us

Isabella Buggelsheim
Coming from the contemporary dance world and trained in various approaches to conscious movement, Isabella Buggelsheim is a certified Franklin Method® educator, a Feldenkrais practitioner, and a Polestar Pilates teacher. Founder of the CanalCentral center in Paris in 2005, she has been supporting movement professionals and individuals for many years. Her approach combines experiential anatomy, body awareness, and functional movement within a pedagogy that is both precise, accessible, and deeply experiential.
Following debilitating lower back pain, she embarked on a journey of research into body practices and somatic pedagogies in order to regain mobility, comfort, and movement efficiency. Today, this personal experience feeds a teaching practice deeply rooted in body listening, anatomical understanding, and movement intelligence.
She works closely with Eric Franklin to transmit the Franklin Method® in Europe through professional training programs, workshops, and specialized courses. Her teaching is distinguished by the integration of the Franklin Method® within Pilates and Feldenkrais movements, creating concrete bridges between visualization, bodily awareness, and functional movement.
Through this multidisciplinary approach, Isabella guides movement professionals and individuals toward a better understanding of the body, greater fluidity in movement, and lasting bodily autonomy.
The history of CanalCentral
In 1994, a severe back problem changed Isabella Buggelsheim's path and opened her up to a new way of feeling and living in her body. Dance gave way to the research, exploration, and learning, which led her to follow the Feldenkrais method for four years, guided by her curiosity and desire to better understand movement.
Throughout this journey, one thing becomes clear: creating a unique space, where everyone could find the practice that suits them at the present moment, a place to listen to your body, reconnect and transform.
After many challenges, the opportunity arose in 2004: a former car garage. A few months later, it was reborn under the name of CanalCentral, a vibrant and generous place, dedicated to the discovery of movement, serenity, and personal fulfillment.
